Friends of Halstow Fundraising

The Friends of Halstow is a registered charity whose purpose is primarily to raise funds for school projects and equipment for the benefit of all the pupils at the school. Recently we have raised funds to purchase musical instruments, upgrade the outdoor play areas in the school and subsidise school trips. The Friends meet regularly in school to plan events and discuss new ideas, dates are advertised in the weekly Halstow newsletter or on our Facebook page ‘Friends of Halstow Primary School’. All are welcome and we love to see new faces. Funds are raised in variety of ways such as:

Social and Community Events:

As well as raising money these events promote a sense of community within the school. Examples of such events include the summer fair, the craft fair, quiz night, wine tasting evening and ceili night.
We recognise that not everyone can attend these events or volunteer time so there are other ways of helping to fundraise such as:

Halstow Lotto (formerly known as the 100 club)

This works a bit like a lottery, there are 3 draws a year and its £5 to enter a draw. Once you enter you get given a number between 1 and 100, if that number gets drawn out you win £100, there are also prizes for 2nd or 3rd place. To make it easy most people pay by direct debit. Easy fundraising

Most of us now shop on line and by registering for easy fundraising many retailers will make a donation to charity when you make a purchase. We have raised over £1000 this way. Check out for more details.

School Kit

The Friends also order and sell a number of items with the school logo on. These include t'shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, caps and book bags. If you would like more information about what's available please contact either by email or come and find us in Bell House for coffee on Friday mornings after drop off.
